Bulldogs clinch playoff berth
The Texarkana Bulldogs baseball team was back in action on April 30 at George Dobson Field before playing Bossier Parish Community College on Tuesday in advance of the playoffs.

started with an exciting week one match-up between the Old School and Ball-A-Holics. On paper the Ball-A-Holics looked far superior, having both youth and hustle on their side. The Old School looked like a brassy bunch of veterans looking to slow the game down and stick to the fundamentals.
After starting the season on a rough patch with a record of 4-10, the Texarkana College softball team picked up their game this past week and claimed two sweeps in one week with a new record of 8-10.

The TC Men's golf team completed their fall season at the Tyler Junior College Fall Intercollegiate at Oakhurst Golf Course Oct. 25-26. The men shot a total of 589 strokes to finish in 2nd place, eight strokes behind Tyler Junior College. The Bulldogs were led by sophomore Wehmeyer Ferreira who won the tournament shooting a season best 69 on the last 18 holes to finish 4-under-par with a total of 140 strokes.
The TC Women's Golf team finished their fall season a perfect four for four at the Texas Junior College Fall Intercollegiate at Oakhurst Golf in Bullard Oct. 25-26.

TC Baseball ended the Fall 2010 season with the annual intersquad Fall World Series last week to close out the season.
Sophomores Jazmin Reed, Morgan Thrash, Ariel McDowell and Amanda Chriestensen are the 2010-2011 softball leaders. They strive to be the best, to help the freshmen players and lead by example.
The TC Women's Golf team continued their fall season at the University of Texas at Tyler Fall Invitational on Oct. 4-5. The women won the tournament to capture their third straight team victory and continue their perfect season.
It's cold, dark and windy and leaves are blowing lightly around the deer stand while Dalton Howell waits patiently for his prey. He has a bow in his hands, and with a steady eye is ready to aim at the next deer that comes his way. However, this is not where his story begins; it actually starts back when he was 13 years old.
In their final game of the fall season, Texarkana College Softball team traveled to the University of Sam Houston to play a seven-inning game.
The TC Bulldogs Baseball team played the Region XIV East Conference Tournament Oct. 7 and 8 in Angelina, Texas, and had a terrific showing.
Texarkana College is introducing numerous intramural sports to students throughout this semester. The different sports that will be played are flag football, volleyball, softball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, racquetball and swimming.

Flag football game focuses on fun
In an effort to enhance students' social activities, TC student recruiter Kyle McNiel and Texas A&M-Texarkana student academics and support services coordinator Celeste McNiel organized a series of friendly flag football games for current TC and A&M students on Sept. 24-26.
The Bulldogs went 4-0 at the Bossier City Tournament on Sept. 18.

As the season draws to an end, the TC Lady Bulldogs are still fighting for a spot for the conference tournament, currently hanging on to the fifth place seed.
TC's baseball team comes into the final two weeks of the regular season 30-14 overall, 15-5 in the conference and two gamesahead of second place Navarro.
Over the last several years, as sports has been placed on the forefront in homes across America, the general public has put athletes on a high pedestal.
There was more than one winner at Saturday's, 3rd annual Strike Out Cancer game versus Trinity Valley Community College. Each team decked from head to toe in pink, played for a cure.
The Texarkana College Bulldogs alone raised $1,656. Surpassing the teams first year by $550, and the second by $800, the team will present the check to the American Cancer Society 12:30 pm Friday.
Rough weather leads to rough start golfers
Texarkana College's golf teams finished third overall in the Tyler Junior College Spring Invitational on March 1-2, and the women finished 12th out of 16 at the Lion Invitational on March 14-16. Out of the 16 teams in the tournament, only two (TC and Tyler Junior College) were junior colleges.
