The Bulldog Blitz hit the road this week to visit area high schools and recruit new students to attend TC.

"The Blitz will be a series of days that representatives from our campus will go into area high schools to promote Texarkana College," Public Relations Officer Lisa Porterfield-Thompson said.

TC recruitment and public relations offices teamed up to visit high schools in Hooks, New Boston, Queen City, Atlanta, Fouke, Texas High, Arkansas High, Liberty-Eylau and Pleasant Grove. Next week TC plans to visit TISD.

"It's a new idea to do something upbeat and fun [to get students interested] in coming to TC," Institutional Advancement and Public Relations Director Suzy Irwin said.

The high school students were shown a recruitment video with clues to a scavenger hunt quiz located on the TC website.  Students who pass the quiz will be placed in a drawing to receive 10 free books at the TC Bookstore if they enroll here.

TC staff distributed DVDs of the recruitment video to students, but for those who did not receive one, the video was also available on TC's website.

TC staff gave away 500 t-shirts with the phrase "TC Tomorrow" printed on them.
Volunteers, students and staff, are needed to help with giveaways, decorating, speaking to students and many more things to represent TC.

For more information about volunteering, students can call Lisa Porterfield-Thompson in Public Relations at 903-832-5565 ext. 3150 or email her at
lpthompson@texarkanacollege.edu as soon as possible.

"We are just going to blitz them out,"  Director of Recruitment Shanetta Cannon said.
