With more new activities coupled with the traditional race, the annual Bulldog 100 event scheduled May 19-22 at the TC campus hopes to draw a bigger crowd.

"I think it is awesome because it helps us students," freshman biology major Ana Gabriel said.
It is a family-oriented event to raise money for the Rising Star Scholarship and is free to the public.

New this year are activities to entertain everyone.

"We've really aimed to make this year's event fun for the whole family," Bulldog 100 Chairman Dr. Daniel DoBell said.

"We're planning to have a bigger parade, rock climbing, inflatable playground, face painting, hot air balloon rides, tailgating competition and many other activities to complement the races."

The Boy Scouts will also be celebrating their 100th anniversary and will hold a Pinewood Derby Race, which anyone can participate in.

Various food vendors will also be at the event to provide sustenance for the crowd.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m. on May 19 with a parade of cars from Texarkana Central Mall to the TC campus.

Voting for the best car will also be at the Mall starting May 16 and lasting until the parade begins.

The actual Bulldog 100 race will begin on May 22 with all-day events from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An awards assembly will be held after the race finishes late Saturday evening.
A full Bulldog race schedule and more information about the annual event is available at www.bulldog100.com.

"I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us out so far," Dr. DoBell said.
